ALFRETON 1 BAMBER BRIDGE 2 BAMBER Bridge started this bottom of the table clash brightly and should have been two up after just a few minutes.

But both the unlucky Vickers and Trainor had shots cleared off the line and the home team survived the early onslaught on Saturday (Sept 20).

And in a moment of bad defending just before the half hour Brig found themselves trailing. A run down the right followed by a defender's error allowed Weston to easily slot the ball home.

This goal was the inspiration Brig needed to play some good football and Milligan and Vickers came close to equalising leaving the away side a bit begrudged to be leaving the pitch at half time a goal down.

Although Brig were kicking downhill in the second half they were put under quite a bit of pressure by the home side but when substitute Hoskin took to the pitch he transformed the game.

Fifteen minutes from the end Vickers was up-ended in the box and the referee had no hesitation in giving a penalty which Hoskin despatched with ease.

Just a few minutes later the game was sewn up when Milligan, who was dominant in the air all match, headed into the net from a freekick.

Bamber Bridge: Finch, Brown, Lavelle, Milligan, Sculpher, Ainscough, Trainor, Eaves (Hoskin), Vickers, Bursnall, Walsh. Subs not used: Woodward, White.
