ROVERS go into their third satellite television showdown of the season on Sunday against Coventry City - and Colin Hendry does not want a repeat of the horror show the last time the cameras rolled at Ewood Park.
The giant Scot still grimaces at the thought of that extraordinary 4-3 defeat against Leeds United on September 14 - admitting that it was the strangest game he has ever played in.
He said: "I can't remember ever playing in a game where so many goals went in so quickly. It was a very bad game to play in as a defender because the finger is always pointed in our direction. But to be honest we defended badly as a team and were rightly punished."
With 16 goals in the last three home league and cup games, Rovers have rightly picked up the tag as one of the most exciting, free-flowing sides around at the moment.
And having scored nine times against Coventry City in the last two home league games, fans could be forgiven for thinking that they are in for another goal feast.
But Hendry said he would pick a solid 1-0 win over an exciting 4-3 victory any time.
He said: "Ask any defender or goalkeeper and they would agree. It may not look pretty but our job is to keep the goals out. As far as I am concerned playing an entertaining game is a bonus for the fans."
Coventry go to Ewood Park without an away win to their name this season and not showing any signs that they are going to escape their annual battle against relegation.
But Hendry is cautious about the visit of the Sky Blues - remembering their FA Cup fourth round clash back in February when Gordon Strachan's side ran out 2-1 winners at Ewood.
He added: "That game came just a month after we beat them 4-0 and a lot of people expected us to cruise into the next round. But that does not happen. There is no such thing as an easy game in the Premiership so we are preparing ourselves for a real battle."
And Big Col will be use the game as another stepping stone to get his match fitness back up to its peak.
He said: "I feel 100 per cent fit but having missed most of the pre-season training and warm up games through injury I am still I little short of match practice."
