TEENAGER John Parr is fast making a name for himself in Leigh & District Amateur Football League.
The 15-year-old striker, until recently on the books at Manchester City, smacked in both goals as Leigh Phoenix A beat Atherton Tigers 2-0.
At the top of Division One are Higher Fold Village Inn following their 7-1 home thrashing of Lion Inn, the goals from Blackley 3, Myers 2, Clayton and White. Litherland replied for Lion.
Another seven came from Leigh Eagles, 7-0 against Rileys, with goals from Andrews 4, Anderson 2 and Robinson.
Ellesmere remain top of Division Two after a thrilling 6-5 win against Victoria, who led after just 12 seconds and were 3-1 up at the break. Ellesmere hit back for 6-3, then almost let it slip. On target for Victoria: Bretherton, Moss, Banks, Mazey and Hibbert. On target for Ellesmere: Jackson, Peers, Brady, Boardman 2 and Hill (og).
In the Davenport Cup Church Inn beat Queens 2-1, Woods and Grogan on top target, Buck grabbing the single. Atherton C&N put six past visiting Sir Charles Napier thanks to Jackson, Harris 2 and a Dawson treble. Austin grabbed the consolation strike.
