I CAN understand Bishop Alan Chester's concern (LET, September 30) about William Hague's decision to share a suite with his fiancee at the week's Tory Party Conference in Blackpool.
But, surely, in this day and age, he should have better things to concern himself with - namely, the dwindling numbers attending church on Sundays.
The Bishop does not give a very balanced view.
Not long ago, the Foreign Secretary Robin Cook's marriage broke down because of an affair with his secretary.
Also, Labour MP Angela Eagle made public that she was in a relationship with another woman.
Yet the Bishop did not feel the need to comment on these matters.
If the Bishop feels need to have a go at political figures, it may be wise to cite cases on all sides of the political divide and not just single out one particular party.
