THE 'Classic Racing Tyldesley Band' will be representing the North West in the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain competition taking place at Birmingham Symphony Hall on Sunday.
They will be playing Symphony for Brass, the work of American composer William Gordon.
Financial support towards the band's expenses to take part in the Birmingham venue has come from Atherton and Tyldesley Round Table, and follows the presentation of a new cornet to the band in memory of former vice-presidents Mr and Mrs H. Corrigan.
Anyone wishing to hear the band in concert is invited to Astley St Stephen's Church on Saturday, November 8, or to Formby Hall, Atherton, on Sunday, December 21, with both concerts starting at 7.30pm.
And the band can also be engaged for venues by calling Graham Walker on 01942 875901.
