A HEALTH promotion exhibition will be on display in the Hardshaw Centre in St Helens next week to promote Stroke Week which runs from Monday, September 29 to Monday, October 5.
The national event, set up by the Stroke Association, is aimed at encouraging people to avoid suffering a sudden stroke by getting their blood pressure checked. In addition, a new booklet entitled 'Keeping Well After Your Stroke' has been produced to help people who have already had a stroke to reduce the risks of suffering a second.
Sister Abbott from St Helens Hospital will be visiting the Hardshaw Centre from October 1 to 3 next week and will also give a talk on Stroke Awareness on Wednesday, October 10 at the Whiston Village Hotel (formerly the Logwood Mill).
