BETTER job opportunities and more scope for carers are benefits which should arise from a £190,000 grant to Leigh and District Citizens Advice Bureau.
Welcoming news of the Lottery scoop CAB branch manager Christine Garner said part of the grant would be used to employ a training officer and to pay care costs.
She said the aim was to set up schemes for unemployed people over 50 and to encourage carers of sick, disabled or elderly people to undergo CAB training programmes.
Part of the lottery windfall would be used to pay for training revision and care costs.
Training programmes will be revised by a new training officer with the goal being NVQ grading for administration, customer care and advice work.
Christine (pictured) said:"Liaison will be high on the list of our new training officer. If anyone feels their organisation would benefit from involvement they could contact me."
Leigh CAB is on 01942 708708.
