BURY Unemployed Workers' Centre has enlisted the help of the UK's largest personal injury solicitors.
Thompson's, based in Manchester with offices nationwide, will deal with compensation claims for those who have suffered an injury or contracted a disease through their work.
The company has been winning compensation for injured workers for over 75 years and, on average, recover more than £100 million each year.
They have achieved key results in such fields as asbestos, deafness, stress injury and passive smoking.
Thompson's policy is to act for the victims of accidents - not for corporate insurers.
As well as industrial injuries, the company also deals with other forms of personal injury.
In 1993, Thompson's recovered the highest ever award of compensation for a person involved in a road accident.
The £3.4 million was paid to the victim who became a paraplegic as a result of the injuries sustained. Bury Unemployed Workers' Centre organiser Mr Josh Walsh said: "We are very pleased to get such a reputable company the size of Thompson's.
"They have had great successes at the forefront of getting people compensation for industrial injuries."
Now, Bury people who wish to make an appointment to see a solicitor at the centre, based in Tithebarn Street, can telephone 797 4326. The first hour is free of charge.
