POLICE are hunting a thug who snatched a teenager's bike and threatened to kill him.

The 13-year-old victim was playing with friends near the paddling pool in Taylor Park when the robber approached them at about 6.10pm on Wednesday.

The man, who carried a small blade in his hand, ordered the boy to give him his bike. When the terrified teenager complied, the man threatened to kill him if he followed him and then rode off on the bike towards Thatto Heath.

Although extremely shocked and shaken, the boy was later able to give a description of the robber. He was white, about 25 years of age, 5ft 2ins tall with a thin build. He had ginger hair cut in a skinhead style, stubble, and was wearing red jeans, a black Nike shell-suit top with the logo on the back, and a pair of black-and-white trainers.

The stolen bike is black with orange lettering and valued at £400.
