THE search is on to find the 1997 Street Cleaner of the Year.
The Tidy Britain Group is asking Citizen readers to nominate their choice of the street cleaner or parish caretaker who not only keeps the environment safe and clean but does that little bit extra for the local community.
The Citizen's managing director Brenda Rudge and representatives from the Tidy Britain Group and award sponsors British Aerospace will judge the competition to find the North West Street Cleaner of the Year.
Judges want to hear, in no more than 100 words, why the person of your choice deserves praise.
The people the judges are looking for not only regularly keep our streets free of litter and waste but also work above and beyond the call of duty.
The north west winner will receive the Silver Broom Trophy, £200 and a certificate.
The regional winner gets £100, an engraved trophy and a certificate and the runners-up also get an engraved trophy and a certificate.
Nominations can come from individuals, schools, clubs, local authorities and other organisations.
Remember to include the following vital information:
