BLACKPOOL'S schoolchildren have the chance to win a slap-up meal for their whole class by building castles in the sand.
Boston Stake Out, the town's newest theme restaurant due to open on November 29, is holding a schools sandcastle competition with the prize of a preview lunch the week before the official opening.
The £1million restaurant on Queen's Promenade next to the Norbreck Castle Hotel, but with a completely separate entrance and car park, will seat 200 and offer food to suit all tastes.
In keeping with its American name, the restaurant will feature American cuisine, including the famous Boston blackened dishes - not burnt, but dipped in herbs which blacken in the cooking process.
But its fare will suit all tastes, appealing to children and adults alike.
Its facilities include the Mayflower Children's Play Area with a 50ft model of the sailing ship which took the Pilgrim Fathers to America.
The competition, open to both primary and secondary school classes, will take place between noon and 1pm on October 24 on the beach opposite the Norbreck Castle.
Entry forms are available from the Boston Stake Out on Queens Promenade, or by phoning 352341, ext 8510.
