"HIS mother could have scored it," was how Preston boss Gary Peters reacted to the dreadful miss by Michael Holt and he added: "Had that gone in it could have been different."

It was a bad miss and no-one needs to tell Michael Holt.

The way he buried his head in his hands as he knelt on the pitch said it all.

North End now travel to Carlisle tomorrow night (Fri Oct 17) for what it is a difficult fixture and then to Bristol City next Tuesday (Oct 21) for another tough match and Preston, still without a win away from Deepdale, must pick up some points.

Some sections of the Preston support are having a go at the manager, which is unfair and premature..

North End are still in touch with the front runners and if they can improve their finishing then there should be much for the Preston fans to look forward to over the winter.

There won't b e many more games this season in which they miss so many chances as those against Bournemouth.
