CAR crime and road safety was the theme of an exhibition at the Fishergate Shopping Centre on Sunday (Oct 12).
The event, organised by the police and Preston Crime Prevention Panel and supported by the Citizen newspaper, introduced shoppers to the latest devices in fighting back against lawbreakers.
Visitors had the chance to have their windscreens etched in one of the many security drives on show.
They could also their eyes tested to the standards of police drivers, as well as pick up a few tips on road safety.
Inspector Peter Tickle who helped to organise the event, said: "It was a great success and proved very popular with the 12,000 shoppers who visited the centre on Sunday.
"One stand which attracted a lot of interest was the latest camera radar machine. Everyone wanted to have a go on that."
The exhibition also had a display of classic cars including an old Lagonda, and youngsters who attended were given a colourful welcome by Zimo the Clown.
