Haydock 52
Beech Hill
Bulldogs nil
HAYDOCK made comfortable progress in the Lancashire Cup.
Missing a number of regulars, they fielded probably the youngest half-back partnership in the club's history, with Chris Reeves, 17 at stand-off and 18-year-old Craig Haughey scrum-half.
And the first try came when Haughey, Reeves and Simon Scott combined to send Haughey over for a try he also converted.
Two further tries by centre Lowe, two Haughey conversions and a penalty gave Haydock a 20-nil half-time lead.
After the break Haydock continued where they had left off when Lowe completed his hat-trick.
Substitute Speed scored with his first touch of the ball after a good pass from Tither and again Haughey converted.
Speed went onto complete his hat-tricks, with further conversions and two penalties by Haughey as Haydock continued the rout.
And a great day's work was completed when the experienced Frodsham intercepted and ran 40 yards to the line.
Best for Haydock were Green, Kelsey, Fearnley, Scott and Lowe.
