KENDAL 17 - PRESTON GRASSHOPPERS 6 from weekend of Oct 11/12
HOPPERS stormed into an early lead thanks to two penalties from skipper Steve Kerry on his first appearance of the season.
An injury to Simon Mulholland then gave a first taste of first team football to former colt Mark Buckley.
Despite spending a long period camped in the Kendal 22, Hoppers could not pierce the home defence and turned round without increasing their lead.
When Bowman crossed for Kendal in the third minute of the second half, the writing was on the wall. Nicholson's conversion edged his side in front.
Hoppers struggled to make any impression and it was the Cumbrians who finished the stronger.
The final ten minutes saw Nicholson first kick a penalty and then convert a late try by replacement Harriman.
