IT was good to see Councillor Pearson giving lie to the adage "a leopard can't change its spots."
The millennium dome was one of the expensive conceptions of the previous Conservative government. The same Conservative government which consistently savaged the finances of the health service.
Incidentally the start of the new millennium is a matter of conjecture depending on what the year zero is based on.
Assuming the birth of Jesus is used, this is now accepted by historians as occurring in 6BC, which means that we are well into the second millennium.
Even assuming the birth as being in the year zero, the millennium does not start until January 1, 2001, which means the dome will be ready in time.
