TWO Hyndburn schools will be given cash to help pay for 71 extra spaces for pupils in the borough.
Lancashire County Council has set aside £373,000 to fund the extra classroom spaces earlier this year.
And the cash is set to be divided between Hollins High School in Accrington and Rishton's Norden High School.
The county council also considered spending money at Moorhead High School in Accrington and Rhyddings High School in Oswaldtwistle.
But County Hall officials decided to strike Rhyddings off the list because there were vacant places at the school.
The Oswaldtwistle site is already over-developed and there is little space to build new classrooms.
Moorhead High has also been dropped because large scale works are needed at the Accrington secondary school.
A bid for £1.5 million worth of funds to redevelop the school was turned down by the Government earlier this year.
Moorhead suffers from being based on two sites and £150,000 would do little to solve the problems at the school.
The council aims to draw up an action plan for Moorhead High in the near future.
Norden High looks set to get a new extension at the science block which will house two classrooms.
And Hollins High is planning to build two new classes to improve its IT teaching facilities.
The proposals will be discussed at a county council resources and planning sub-committee on Tuesday.
