WHEN primary school teacher Julie Hargreaves married Dr Andrew Pickard she took her 'work' with her to the wedding ceremony!
Around 20 to 30 pupils aged 10 and 11 from Lammack Primary School, Lammack, Blackburn, serenaded "Miss Hargreaves" and her husband while they signed the marriage register in St Nicholas Church, Sabden.
The pupils spent three months practising their three songs - Autumn Daze, Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Light Up the Fire - for the big day.
Julie, 31, herself a former pupil of Lammack Primary School, said: "I have always wanted children to sing at my wedding.
"It was lovely to have pupils I taught when they were about seven years old. I felt very emotional"
Julie's work colleague teacher Mrs Veronica Tobin took the young choristers through their paces at the ceremony on Saturday at 1pm which was also attended by Rod Haynes, who flew in from Barcelona to be an usher for the day.
The bride is the only daughter of Peter Hargreaves, of Pierce Close, Padiham, and Marion Patten, of The Riddings, Long Preston, Settle.
She was attended by matron-of-honour Caroline Alston and bridesmaid Elizabeth Ferris.
The bridegroom, 39, a marketing manager for Magnet Kitchens in Keighley, is the only son of Joyce Pickard, of York Avenue, Rochdale, and the late John Pickard.
Best man was Rob Ferris and other ushers were Graeme Hargreaves and Brian Alston.
Reception was at Ferraris Country Hotel in Longridge.
