A STUDENT told today how he was dragged from his bed and robbed by bogus police officers.
Two men burst into Dominic Montgomery's rented house saying they were armed police.
The law degree student at Blackburn College was pulled from his bed by his hair and pinned to the floor by one of the robbers as the second searched the house in Shaw Street, Blackburn.
Terrified Dominic, 21, was told not to move until the men had left, taking with them about £1,300 of goods.
He said: "It was about 8.10am and I was lying in bed when I heard the door being smashed down and someone shouting they were armed police.
"One of them came into the bedroom and he dragged me from the bed and told me to lie face down on the floor.
"They kept asking me where the drugs, guns and money were, but I told them I didn't have a clue what they were talking about. He told me he had a gun pointing at my head but I didn't see it.
"I only moved into the house a couple of weeks ago and it was a pretty terrifying 10 minutes.
"They were obviously after someone else, but they've wiped me out. I'm not even insured." Detective Inspector Terry Richardson, of Blackburn CID, said: "One of the men placed an article against the student's head as if it was a gun - it wasn't - and again demanded drugs and money.
"They stole £1,300-worth of property before leaving and, fortunately, the student was not injured."
They took a Helly Hansen half-length yellow and blue jacket, Toshiba microwave, JVC camcorder, mobile phone and colour portable television.
DI Richardson said the robbers claimed to be armed police and added: "They have targeted the wrong house. They thought there would be drugs, guns and money there, but it would appear that the aggrieved is a perfectly innocent party."
Police are trying to trace a new-shape purple Vauxhall Astra seen leaving the scene.
One of the men is described as between 28 and 35 years old, 5ft 8in tall, with black scruffy hair and a full beard. He was wearing a black baseball cap with white lettering and a dark green jacket with purple stripes.
He spoke with a Scottish accent.
