I WENT into Little Harwood Health Centre, Blackburn, on Monday, October 13, to make a non-urgent appointment for my husband to see the doctor.
I asked for an appointment for Friday morning with either of two doctors. I was told that one was on leave all week and the other one was booked up.
I then asked for an appointment with any doctor, only to be told that they were booked up all week.
I told the receptionist that I found that hard to believe, but she assured me it was so.
I then asked for an appointment for the following Monday morning. She brought a card for a doctor I had not heard of previously. I told her that would be OK.
She had two appointments available with this doctor - one for 8.30am and one for 9am.
I told her this was too early as my husband takes me to work each morning.
I start work at 9am. My husband needs the car to get around as he is registered disabled.
She told me that there were no more appointments after that - they were all booked up.
I walked out in disgust.
