LEIGH'S business leaders have given 100% backing for the ambitious Xanadu project.
And now they have called on the people of Leigh and district to get behind the scheme which will bring the opportunity for improved job and commercial prospects.
Partnership spokesman Alan Jones said: "We believe this is an opportunity for the whole of the Leigh area and beyond which cannot be missed.
"Leigh people should give their sull support to this venture which will secure Leigh's future."
And Partnership chairman Gordon Jackson said: "For too long we have seen too much investment going to Wigan town centre. Now we have the opportunity for a £150 million development which will bring a re-birth to the community.
"This project will bring new life back into Leigh - something which Leigh Business Partnership has been working for over the last two years."
And Mr Jones added: "This opportuniuty has got to be grasped wholeheartedly by all of Leigh and district.
"Xanadu will secure Leigh's future not just into the Millenium but for years and years to come - all to the benefit of our children and their children.
"Leigh's not got a cinema, a bowling alley, swimming pool or a railway station.
"The swimming pool will come - the other may, if everyone gets behind the vision of Xanadu."
