LANCASHIRE Lynx face a radical revamp in a move to increase their success both on and off the field.

A series of innovations were announced this week including a major promotional drive to raise the club's profile and the appointment of former New Zealand and Warrington star Kevin Tamati as a full-time manager.

A new coach - described as a "household name" - is expected to be named soon and PNE chief executive Peter Church will take the lead in off-field activities.

Lynx chairman Jeffrey Mallinson said: "Preston North End plc have invested in Lancashire Lynx for the medium term potential of the club.

"We are not expecting overnight success but we are totally confident in the future of Rugby League in general and Lancashire Lynx specifically. "The club has the full commitment of the directors of the plc. It is intended to invest in the resources to ensure the future success and profitability of the Lynx."

Two pre-season friendlies against Super League opposition are to take place in January and a campaign involving the local community and Preston schools is planned.
