BEAUTIFUL toddler Shannon Ryan celebrates her third birthday this Tuesday - and her devoted parents have organised a celebrity snooker night to raise cash for the charity which helped her reach it. Dave and Mandy Ryan, of Margaret Street, Oswaldtwistle, were devastated when Shannon was born with three holes in the heart but, with help from charities like the Association for Children with Heart Disorders, has made an astonishing recovery.

After several operations to mend the holes in her heart, Shannon is now fighting fit and looking forward to a brighter future.

To say thank you, the Ryans have helped organise a charity snooker night, with sports stars including John Virgo, Peter Ebdon, Tony Knowles and Blackburn Rovers' Roy Hodgson and Tony Parkes and Burnley FC's Chris Woods and Marlon Beresford.

Tickets for the event, to be held at 7pm on Thursday, November 6, at Hyndburn Sports Centre, are priced between £8 and £4.

They are available from the Citizen/Lancashire Evening Telegraph reception; Frank Littler's butcher's stall on Blackburn Market; Hyndburn Sports Centre; the Swan Pub, in Warner Street, Accrington; and Red Rose Paints.

There is also a £200 VIP package available, which includes four reserved seats, an advertisement in the programme, and a chance to meet the celebrities.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the Association for Children with Heart Disorders and the Care of Next Infant cot death charity.
