WHAT a wonderful idea Xanadu is for Leigh, and everyone I have spoken to also think it is a great idea.
I think the people of Leigh who are objecting to the project are very narrow-minded; they are not thinking of the greater good of the community as a whole.
Trees can be re-planted, and probably will be by the developers. But if we lose the chance of Xanadu it cannot be replanted here in Leigh and that will be the greater loss.
Small animals, insects etc. have a wonderful way of adapting to new surroundings, as I am sure the environmentalists know.
Let us have our 'skis for Leigh' and all the good fortune it will bring to the area.
