I AM amazed at the negative feedback that I have been reading via letters in the Citizen about Councillor Paul Browne.
The majority of residents in Darwen would endorse my statement that Coun Browne has consistently put the interest of Darwen and its residents first throughout his political career.
The majority of these letters are written by Labour Councillors - is this due to fear? Could it be that Coun Browne reaches their Achilles heel when he says Darwen is ignored by the council?
Coun Devena Paterson appears to be on the defensive against statements made by Coun Browne. She mentions the new training centre and the proposed new business venture on Hardman Way. Maybe she could have let the public know what this new venture will be?
Her comments about Coun Browne saying negative things about Darwen are ludicrous. If this was the case, I doubt the residents of Darwen would have returned him to serve on the council time after time.
K Pearson,
Cross Barn Grove,
Darwen.
