ALL Mr G Pilkington says about the deterioration of Larkhill Flats in Blackburn (Letters, October 23) is the perfect truth.
Although they have put TV cameras in the lifts and outside, the situation is worse than before because we have had no caretakers living in the flats.
The entrances to the flats are a disgrace. The woodwork does not have glass in, only some kind of Perspex, that cannot be cleaned and is always dirty. That's because they say vandals will break glass.
In the lifts, you have to hold your nose because of the smell. You stand in urine. The older tenants' flats are like little palaces and they who look after the council's property are fed up with the way things have gone.
I have been in my flat 32 years and am 90 years old. When I think how they were when we came in 1965, it is very distressing.
Where are our three councillors? We never see them to be able to talk to them. All we want is some good, decent tenants and I know things would get better then.
