LORRY driver Ian Campbell had a lucky escape when his wagon flipped on its side on a busy town centre road.
Mr Campbell, who lives in Burnley, was on his way to make a collection for his firm, the Sewell Distribution Group which has a depot in Colne, and had nearly reached his destination in Blackburn when the accident happened at a notorious blackspot.
The road at Darwen Street bridge in Blackburn was blocked for several hours as recovery crews attempted to right the 28-tonne wagon.
Mechanics rigged up a large air-bag to get it back on its wheels.
Sewell Distribution manager Chris Stockton said: "We're still investigating exactly what happened. Thankfully the driver was not hurt and there's no damage to the wagon."
