SOME might call it optimism - applying for a 10-year passport at the age of 95, as East Lancashire pensioner Sally Turner has done so she can jet off on holiday abroad.

But doesn't it warm to cockles of your heart - the resilience and hopefulness of old folk like her?

Yes, with that sort of encouraging spirit and pluck, we sure Mrs Turner will get her money's worth out of her passport. For she already has a visa to the Millennium and beyond.

Happy hols, Sal - and many of them.
