Solicitors acting on behalf of Peter Thomas serving a life sentence for the murder of Allan Curtis are seeking leave to appeal. Charles Bottomley, of Clarkson Penhale Solicitors, said Thomas maintains his innocence despite being put behind bars with accomplice Darren Rae back in July.
Mr Bottomley said they were waiting for the Court of Appeal in London to give them leave to appeal. A decision is expected at any time.
