NICE to see Coun Don Rishton has at last shown an interest in Bank Top, Blackburn (LET, October 28), even though that particular horse has bolted.

As for jiggery pokery over City Challenge boundaries, in my view, without it, Jack Straw would not have the support he enjoys and may well have found votes going elsewhere.

As for all the madcap schemes, I'm afraid I've come up with another: Could the multi-million pound Boulevard, which is used only as a parking bay for bus drivers' brew times, not be used on certain days as an open market, with days for second-hand goods sales like those at Preston, thus bringing life to an otherwise dead part of town at little or no cost and may even make the town a few bob?
