I AGREE whole-heartedly with your correspondents regarding the wedding in jail of the convicted murderer Tony Aspinall (LET, October 22).
Relating to this, I would ask why, after 11 years with his girlfriend and having a six-year-old son, has Mr Aspinall suddenly decided to 'tie the knot?'
Cynical of me, I know, but could it be that marriage gives him the cloak of respectability: the perception of a caring family man?
One can only wonder why, while on the outside, marriage was not necessary, in prison, when a normal family life is impossible, he suddenly takes the plunge.
Like Patrick Sudall (Letters, October 27) I, along with countless others, am appalled at the charade of this vicious individual playing happy families while the Sudall family are denied the joy of seeing their son marry and his parents are denied the joy of grandchildren through Kevin.
I attended the christening of a friend's baby a couple of weeks ago: Kevin Sudall's nephew was also being baptised - Kevin should have been there; he wasn't because the happily-married Mr Aspinall and his cronies made sure of that.
