MANY people here in East Lancashire will be a little puzzled by a Government report on the Millennium Dome at Greenwich.
Ministers have been told that the Dome will attract more than 12 million visitors in the year 2000, of whom more than two million will be tourists.
The money they spend will have a "halo effect" on shops, hotels and restaurants throughout the country, says the report.
Come off it. Does the Government really expect US, Japanese and Brazilian tourists to zoom up to East Lancashire, or other regions of Britain, for a quick meal after taking in the delights of the Dome?
While we feel the Dome is a good idea, the Government should not patronise us with such silly reports.
