Morecambe Football Club has announced plans to improve the covered south stand at Christie Park.
Five more levels of terracing along with crush barriers are to built at the Christie Avenue end of the ground.
This development will take two weeks which means both ends of the ground will be out of action for Morecambe's FA Cup first round tie against Emley. As a result the capacity for that game will be reduced to 2,364 and so the game has been made all ticket.
Chairman Rod Taylor said: "The work is all part of the changing face of Morecambe Football Club. We are putting things in place which we hope are going to secure us long-term success.
"To undertake the work on the South Stand at this moment seems a logical decision while we have builders on site and the materials available.
"The work should only take two weeks and we apologise for the inconvenience it may cause but it is a very positive move."
