A MAN and a woman are recovering in hospital after a paragliding accident on Wednesday afternoon (Oct 29).

Both were flown for treatment to spinal injuries at hospitals in Oldham and Preston following the accident on Facit Hill at the rear of the Owd Betts pub near Edenfield.

It appears the paraglider, operated by Pennine Soaring Club, crash-landed after a 20-minute flight shortly before 2pm.

A male instructor from Moston, Manchester, was airlifted to the Royal Oldham Hospital while a 33-year-old Bolton woman on a training flight is being treated in the Royal Preston Hospital for spinal injuries.
