THE GREEN Party has joined forces with residents to produce a report objecting to the planned Xanadu Snowdome project.
The report - titled "Caves of Ice" after the poem "Kubla Khan" by Samuel Coleridge - outlines how they believe the local community and wildlife would be affected by the planned £150 million scheme alongside the Pennington Flash country park.
The objectors claim the development would conflict with 20 policies in Wigan Council's Unitary Development Plan, and that it conflicts with a further 40 government policies on planning.
The report highlights ecological effects on wildlife including loss of habitats for birds and bats.
"Caves of Ice" also shows how the local community can best oppose the project, before planners make a decision in February on whether it should go ahead.
