ALAN WHALLEY'S WORLD
THE airwaves have started crackling again after a gap of 54 years.
For the search is on for former RAF wireless operator Ted Bibby from St Helens. And the man launching the plea for any information about Ted (he'd now be in his mid-70s) is his old buddy, Ken Taylor from Bedfordshire.
They served together in 1943 with 106 Squadron, RAF Netheringham but lost touch some years ago and Ken from Biggleswade, near Bedford, is keen to know whether Ted is still around.
One little clue is that Ted was known to be a staunch Saints supporter.
IF anyone can help, please contact Frank Sephton, PRO with the newly-formed local RAF Association (tel. St Helens 754376) who is handling the query for Ken.
