A SUPERB selection of local art is to go under the hammer at the Stakis Hotel this weekend at a charity auction in aid of the St Helens and Knowsley Hospice.

The event is expected to include around 90 paintings created by local artists to help raise money for the hospice appeal.

In addition, guests will be able to catch the expert skills of TV auctioneer, Tim Wonnacott from the Antiques Roadshow, who is to preside over the event. He is also responsible for running Sotheby's operations in the North West and has supported the hospice appeal on a number of other occasions.

The 90 paintings to be auctioned will be on display in the Chalon Suite of the Stakis Hotel from 11am on Sunday, November 9 and can be pre-viewed before the auction begins at 2pm.

IF you need any more information about this event, you can contact the Hospice Campaign Office on St Helens 453798.
