THERE'S many a trip down Memory Lane to be had in Nelson Library just now.
Throughout November visitors will be able to browse and reminisce through the years at a rare exhibition of photographs which have been gathered by librarians Christine Carradice and Susan Byrne.
They trawled through old pictures donated over the years and borrowed additional material.
The exhibition is called People, places and events: Yesterday and today in Nelson.
Everyone popping in to see the exhibition is being invited to vote for their favourite picture. A token £10 prize will be given to the photographer, or owner, of the picture which wins most votes.
The winner will be announced during December.
The exhibition has been staged at Nelson as part of National Libraries Week, where old photographs are not the only item of interest. On Saturday, staff and enthusiasts from the Pendle and Burnley Family History Society will be on hand to help anyone who is interested in tracing their family tree or finding out more about local history.
The event runs from 9.30am until 4pm.
Converted for the new archive on 14 July 2000. Some images and formatting may have been lost in the conversion.
