I WAS interested to note a recent letter to you from Cllr Newman-Thompson and therefore assume he is alive and well.
On behalf of my Neighbourhood Watch Scheme I have written to him twice (June 2 and July 1) along with his two colleague. As he has not even had the courtesy to acknowledge either letter, I wrote to his leader, Cllr Henig, on August 15, detailing our concerns and deploring this lack of courtesy.
Cllr Henig did pursue our case but not the lack of response. Another letter to Cllr Henig on August 25 again sought a response from our elected representative.
A final letter to Cllr Henig on Oct 5, concerning our failure to elicit any response whatsoever for one of our elected representatives, was passed on to our councillors.
There has still been no response from Cllr Newman-Thompson, hence my surprise to find he was able to write to you.

Fair point and as I believe the councillor was banging on about being in touch with the people perhaps he will take this opportunity to explain this breakdown in communication - Ed.
