CHRIS Waddle is poised to ask Manchester City to extend Gerry Creaney's loan spell at Turf Moor for another month.
But whether the First Division crisis-club will give the green light for Creaney to play in the FA Cup first round at Rotherham United on November 15 hangs in the balance .
Creaney's goal in the 3-2 win at Luton on Tuesday was his seventh strike since arriving at Turf Moor in mid-September.
And not surprisingly Waddle wants Creaney on board for at least another four weeks.
"I will be asking Manchester City about the current situation and getting Gerry Creaney for another month," confirmed Waddle.
"Gerry is quite happy with the situation because he is getting first team football and he is also in the shop window.
"That does Gerry no harm at all and to be realistic Gerry Creaney, is far better than Division Two. "The guy is only 27 and with the ability he has got he should be playing in the Premiership.
"I've worked with a lot of good players in my time but Gerry is a class act."
Waddle would not be drawn further today on a permanent deal for Creaney and added: "I'm really pleased Gerry is here and it would be nice to get him to sign up on an extended contract.
"But that's further down the road because it is all about finance and money which is tight at the club."
