AS November 11 approaches, our thoughts turn to the men and women who lost their lives fighting for their country. The Mayoress and I are supporting the Royal British Legion to raise over £30 million.
We urge you to join us, together with employees of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, in buying a poppy to show your support and in joining us for the two minutes' silence on Armistice Day, Tuesday.
A maroon will be fired from Blackburn and Darwen Town Hall Buildings at 11am to mark the start of the silence and another at 11.02am to mark the end of the reflection.
COUNCILLOR PETER G GREENWOOD CBE, Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen.
