A CAMPAIGNER bidding to free imprisoned British nanny Louise Woodward has written a song to sum up her supporters' feelings.
Robert Robinson and other volunteers were in Burnley town centre and collected 870 signatures on a petition calling for the Chester au pair to be released and gave out more than 2,000 yellow ribbons.
He has written a song of support - Free Louise - which he is sending to the campaign team in Louise's home village of Elton, Cheshire.
Mr Robinson is also campaigning for a change in the law to stop teenagers being used as "cheap child care".
Mr Robinson said he was disgusted at the photographs given to the media this weekend by the Eappen family showing nine-month-old Matthew close to death in the intensive care unit.
He said: "They were interviewed before the jury gave its guilty verdict and they are trying to influence the judge's decision on whether to overrule the conviction.
"We would like to thank everyone who helped us the staff in the Market Square cafe who collected signatures and the children that distributed ribbons."
Supporter Karen Hughes said: "People you would never have thought would get involved stopped us and signed the petition. We also made yellow ribbons which we gave away free and there was a box for anyone who wanted to donate money to the fund.
"I will be writing to her to tell her what people are doing for her."
Nearly £120 was donated to the campaign and that is being sent to Chester.
