ALL eyes were turning to Chancellor Norman Lamont's autumn statement as the battle to get the new European Fighter Aircraft into production and protect 20,000 Lancashire Aerospace jobs reached a climax.
It was hoped the chancellor would use the occasion to pledge that cash would be available to build up to 250 of the 21st century fighters for the RAF.
