A LUCKY lady who won a three-day trip to the French vineyards in a pub's fund-raising project has offered the prize up for auction.
The woman from Colne, who is called Jackie but asked to remain anonymous, won the spare seat in a car which will set off from the Marsden Cross Inn, Brierfield, on November 18 to pick up a bottle of Beaujolais wine before returning to the pub.
The raffle to win the seat raised £350 but the woman told organisers she could not take up the opportunity because her husband is ill and needs looking after.
She offered the seat up for auction to the highest bidder to raise more money for Burnley and Pendle Hospice.
All bids must be registered with organiser Mel Simpson before noon on Tuesday either in writing at the Marsden Cross, by fax on 01282 694140 during working hours or 01282 618835 out of hours, or by telephoning 01282 611245 during working hours.
Mr Simpson said: "People in Pendle, and especially in Colne, should be proud that the likes of Jackie still exist."
