THE Circulation Club, Burnley, is on the market and is attracting lots of early interest, say the agents.
The Holmes Street night club, which has been closed for about 12 months, is being offered for sale at £175,000 or for lease with an annual rental of £20,000.
A spokesman for agents Trevor Dawson, chartered surveyors, St James Street, Burnley, said that during the months it had been closed a full refurbishment had been carried out on the ground floor.
When work is completed on the first floor the club will have the potential to house 1,000 clubbers. The two-storey stone building in Burnley Wood was originally built as a cinema, but many years ago was converted into a bar and nightclub.
The club is in a residential area and had been the subject of complaints about noise and nuisance. On one occasion the club lost the music licence following complaints to Burnley Council, though it was won back on appeal.
In 1989 plans to convert part of the building into industrial and commercial uses was turned down by the council.
The premises have a Justices on-licence, and public entertainment licence, allowing 500 people at ground floor level and a further 500 upstairs when work is complete.
There is a special hours certificate until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights.
