UNIONS feared jobs in East Lancashire would get the axe after British Telecom announced a further 15,000 redundancies.

The National Communications Union said it feared up to 100 local jobs would go. BT chairman Iain Vallance announced the plans to shed a further 15,000 jobs over the next two years, on top of the 35,300 who had already left.
