A LOCAL woman could soon be eclipsing superwaifs once she hits the catwalk.
Susan Carlick (26, pictured) is a finalist in a national competition to find the Size 16+ Model of the Year.
And if Susan wins she will be offered a contract with Excel, a leading model agency.
Susan, who lives in Stand Lane, Radcliffe, said: "My Auntie Hilary spotted the competition in a magazine and kept asking me to enter, so in the end I did. It was a bit of a joke really and I couldn't believe it when I found out I was through to the final."
The former Bury Grammar School pupil will travel down to London later this month on an all-expenses-paid trip to take part in a fashion show with the five other finalists.
The judging panel will include TV presenter Vanessa Feltz and Carole Russell, editor of Woman magazine.
The idea of the competition is to encourage the fashion industry to use models who more accurately represent the average British woman.
