MADCAP comedian Paul Kay - otherwise known as Dennis Pennis - is to help Blackburn Rovers fans beef up their barracking.

Paul is the scourge of celebrities everywhere with his no-holds-barred interview technique. He once asked Demi Moore whether she would consider keeping her clothes on in a movie - as long as it was tasteful.

But now Paul is scouring the country looking for the best football terrace chant.

Next Tuesday, he will come up with his own chant for the Ewood faithful and he'll also be asking Rovers fans to sing their their own favourites.

The best chants will then be judged at the end of the day by Rovers defender Colin Hendry.

The chant challenge will be part of Radio 5 Live's Nationwide programme which will be broadcast from the clock tower in King William Street on the day.

Presenter Julian Worricker will also be joined by Bullseye's Jim Bowen for the programme from 4pm to 7pm.

Julian will be looking at the football rivalry between Blackburn and Burnley as well as other local issues such as why East Lancashire has some of the unhealthiest areas in Britain.

Any fans wanting to contribute their Rovers chant should send a fax to 0171 765 3774 or e-mail to Nationwide@bbc.co.uk
