NATIONAL newspaper reports that Blackburn Rovers are chasing Oldham's 22-year-old left back Carl Serrant are premature.
But Ewood boss Roy Hodgson admitted the club would always be interested in good players if they became available.
Serrant played for the England under-21 side this week and Hodgson said: "If he's that good a player we will be interested. He will come to everyone's attention if he is playing for the under-21s. But there is no reason to link us with him at the moment."
A number of clubs are reported to have watched Serrant, with Oldham said to be preparing to cash in.
With a weekend free from Premiership games, Rovers could take the opportunity to watch him at Boundary Park.
