AN orphan in Bolivia has been "adopted" by Mount Zion Church, Cliviger.
Saturnino Tenorio is 14 years old and lives with his brother who has two children of his own.
The Independent Methodist church applied to the Tear Fund to sponsor a child and were sent details of Saturnino.
Secretary Colin Scholes said: "We will be sponsoring him until he is 16 or 17 when he will go on to another scheme.
"The Sunday School children have been writing lots of letters to him and we have a display about Saturnino in church."
Another South American country, Colombia, was featured in church during Missionary Weekend with a visit from Daniel Castro and his English-born wife, Gail.
They are both serving in Bogata where Gail works with street children and where Daniel is in charge of worship.
He is in England at the moment taking extra studies in music with the intention of converting hymns for Colombians with the appropriate rhythms of their music.
